Great question and one in which the number of possible responses is many. I’ll go with the biggest with is fear of risk and a slight lack of confidence. My current method for overcoming these fears is forcing myself to keep taking another step forward and with each step realizing I got this.

That’s a really good strategy. When we look at the single steps in front of us instead of the whole thing, we won’t be too overwhelmed.
It’s a cliche, but I always remind myself “Just do it!”

Hi SOS! Your question is real tough to begin with. I need to contemplate on myself deeply but for the actual moment I will give you my answer as -overthinking.
I tend to overthink to some extent which I believe making myself even more problematic. Sometimes, it leads me to negative thoughts and that is the worst part of it. It also kills our happiness because we entertain negativity out of everthinking.
As I started blogging, it defintely helped me cope up with im intrapersonal being. I was able to learn more about myself and still learning. I use my blog to send out positivity as much as possible.
I will bring your question along with me through out until I have finally figure out what’s the deepest answer it could be for this question.
Thank you SoS!

Hi Lenny,
That’s definitely one of the hindrances a person can have on the road to success. While we overthink about the do’s and dont’s and what if’s or whatnots… other people are just taking action already, stepping forward to their vision.
I can relate to this. I tend to fall into that overthinking phase as well. It’s also something I would like to change about myself.. Thinking about situations and consequences is good.. but dwelling on negativity is something we can replace with positive thinking instead.

That’s right. The best thing we can do as bloggers is to reciprocate the negative and bring out all positivity in the world. 😀

It helps to prioritize.

yes prioritizing helps……these days i have to study, and then i have to maintain this blog, then i am doing some research work……..the thing is…..i have been neglecting other things for studies sake and i feel like i am getting behind in this world……there is so much i can do…..but i am stuck…….i don’t want to ignore them for too long……its not like i hate studying……i love my subject………but knowledge alone does not guarantee success in competitive exams……its a huge mess……and i could go on for hours…….talking about it does take out some of the frustration and helps calm……thank you for the opportunity…. 😀 😀

That’s really good to know. This is, after all, Speak Out Society. I’m honored that you are very open and honest about what you are going through..
I guess you can try to organize the things you need to do versus the things you want to do.
Since you’re studying, it might be wise to prioritize schoolworks first (in my opinion)… but you can try time management for your passion like blogging.

I don’t think there is anything I would change but more of a, I wish I knew earlier in life what I know now, type of thing.

Can you state an example of what you wish you knew earlier?

I wish I had the confidence in myself that I have now back then. Plus also I have a better understanding of who I am and I am comfortable in my own skin.

Guess that is what only life and experience can bring, that perception & perspective missed as a youth.

What a loaded question lol. I’ve learned to be happy with myself as I am. But I wish I could get better at following through with things, and not being afraid. There are a few things in my life that are scaring the hell out of me right now. My practice has become to fake it till I make it. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much. I have fantastic days then I’ll let someone dull my shine, then get mad at myself for letting it happen. Oh well, I’ll forever be a work in progress I suppose!

In high school, I always wished I could change how other people perceived me — it seemed like no one liked me, and I couldn’t figure out why. As I got older, though, I realized that I was kind of a jerk — and a sexist jerk, at that 😦 I’ve written about it here: https://natalieschriefer.wordpress.com/2015/10/20/ballroom-femininity/ but the short version is that it took some soul-searching (and ballroom dancing) to help me understand that the problem had never been other people: it was me.
Now, the biggest thing I wish I could change is how busy I am — I love being involved in projects. I hate saying no, and I love helping other people, but unfortunately, I end up saying yes to more than I can handle! It’s tough to balance sometimes, and balance is important.

I would like to be less judgmental. To stop putting people into boxes based on small things they say, their opinions on an issue, or even the way they dress and behave. I try to do my best not to, but I am rather old now, so find change difficult.
This is a good idea!

Thanks, Pete. I think it’s human nature to judge… but at least you’re working through it. I do also try to look beyond my own prejudice against people.

I come from a generation where we tended to give people less than 60 seconds to impress. Not laudable, just a fact. I have been wrong many times, but also right just as many…
